RESULTS OF OUR 46TH ALL JAPAN ZNA KOI SHOW ENTRIES

Was just told by Nobutoki San (GM of Oishi Koi Farm)..that out of our 4 entries..we managed 3 awards..our customer also won some awards as well..other than that..70% of Oishi Koi Farm's entries managed to win an award..here's some of the pix..

NOGAMI KOI FARM

We were in Japan recently doing some koi hunting..here's a video taken when we visited Nogami Koi Farm..a very famous kohaku breeder..he breeds showa as well..a Nogami kohaku just won this year's All Japan Rinyukai GC..in the video you'll see last year's Nagaoka Koi Show GC..as well as this year's Niigata Noygosai Koi Show's 75bu winner..enjoy..

MUDPOND HARVEST

We harvested a mudpond containing 51 pieces of our customer's koi recently..these fellas have been in the mudpond for the past 5months..they went in as tosais..measuring 25cm to 35cm..the smallest piece that came out..was a male koi measuring 42cm..while the biggest was a Yamabuki Ogon..measuring a whooping 61cm..these kois are from OISHI, OOMO, MARUSHO and DAINICHI KOI FARM..hope you all enjoy the videos..its been split into 4 parts..

OISHI KOI FARM'S FEMALE PARENT KOI

We would like to introduce to you one of the main female kohaku oyagoi use by Oishi Koi Farm..this kohaku is 9 years old and measure 91cm..it was featured in the front cover of RINKO Magazine (Jan 2010 issue)..many of the Oishi Kohakus feature on this blog are from this particular oyagoi..and the quality is there to be seen..

DEVELOPMENT OF OISHI SANKE

Just like to share an Oishi Sanke owned by one of our customer..this piece was bought in March 2010 as a Jumbo Tosai and left to grow on in Oishi's mudpond over the summer months..and was harvested 2 weeks ago..

Here is what the breeder have to say about this particular sanke: 

"The development in this Oishi Sanke is uite impressive. The Hi quality is superd and well defined. Kiwa and sashi is absent with great shiroji. Although sumi has dropped a bit but the quality can still be seen clearly. Excellent tsubo-sumi placement. The head markings are unique which gives this sanke its eye-catching characteristics. 

Body and structure is excellent and well developed. The future of this koi is excellent an I expect to see good result from this koi in the future."
